Guidelines for Cleaning

Cleanse your piercing
until it heals completely, which may take a few months based on your body's
characteristics and the placement.
Morning and evening, apply a gentle compress of saline mist. Limit yourself to
doing this twice a day.

  • Cleanliness & Initial Care

    • Before you clean your piercing, make sure you wash your hands well. Since a piercing is an open wound, bacteria can spread through unclean hands or fingernails.
    • Avoid using chemicals like alcohol, Neosporin, or Bactine to clean your piercing as they may irritate it
  • Daily Care

    • Try to keep shampoos and soaps away from fresh piercing when taking a shower, and make sure you rinse well afterward.
    • Take cautious not to irritate the fresh piercing. Take care when washing and styling your hair, putting on and taking off your clothes, and avoid sleeping on it
  • Flatback Handling

    • Never rotate or turn your Flatback.
    • Avoid applying moisturizers, body creams, cosmetics, and perfumes directly in to the piercing.

Bar Length

Initial Piercing: Use a longer bar to allow for swelling (e.g., 6mm-8mm).

Healed Piercing: Switch to a shorter bar for a snug fit (e.g., 4mm-6mm).

📏 Recommended Bar Lengths by Piercing Type:

Lobe: 4mm-6mm-8mm

Helix: 6mm-8mm

Conch: 6mm-8mm-10mm

Tragus: 4mm-5mm-6mm

👉 Tip: Too short may cause pressure or irritation; too long may move too much and delay healing.
